Avalanche School

Backcountry safety.

Have fun in the backcountry but be safe about it. Over the course of two weekday evenings and two full weekend days, you'll learn basic hazard management, through planning and preparation, for travel through avalanche country. The course, hosted by our well-seasoned and experienced Ski Patrol, will help you select and manage appropriate terrain, make red-flag observations, use safe travel techniques, perform basic avalanche rescue and recognize the "human" factor in every situation.
